Jacquelyn has 3 dogs. Maiya, a German Shepherd who is now 5 years old Otis a 3 year old rescue, and Sage, a 3 year old working line German Shepherd.
We are "13 Footprints" in the desert. Otis had his left hind leg amputated after having it injured in an interaction with a moving car.
Maiya came in 2013 after Jacquelyn lost her 2 male shepherds within days of each other the previous month. She is her “first” IPO/Schutzhund Competitor and has completed a BH and is training hard for her title in tracking and advanced obedience. Maiya loves to use her nose more than anything else.
Then came Otis. Oh Otis. Jacquelyn went to Pima Animal Care looking for the handsome male Rottweiler "Leroy”. on their website. She told them she was there to see “Leroy”, they said “oh, the 3-legged Rottweiler”. “Well, I guess so”.
He became “Otis” and he and Maiya hit it off. Otis loves all thing “Maiya”. Though she doesn't feel the same.
Pima Animal Care suspected he was always a stray and hit by a car. He was picked up with an improperly healed left hind leg which they removed (and neutered him) just 2 weeks before he found a forever home with her.
Finally (and the household is complete) came Sage. Sage was unexpected, but adds a lot to our home. She is a 3-year-old working line female German Shepherd that was whiling away the days on a local ranch. She has way too much talent to spend her days watching clouds roll by so here she is.
She has mastered Impulse control and basic obedience. She will compete for her BH this winter. She lives to chase balls.
